• Long battery life
• Supports Apple pencil (first generation) and Smart Keyboard. All iPads works with an Apple pencil — just not the same Apple pencil. This Apple iPad Air 3 only works with the first generation iPad pencil. The second generation iPad pencil only works with the 2018 iPad Pro models. The first generation pencil works great, but you have to deal with its charging feature, which entails plugging the pencil into the iPad’s lightning port and possibly losing the cap. Furthermore, Apple left out its ProMotion technology, which offers a 120Hz refresh rate. This means the screen will be slightly jumpy, which may impact artists.

• Headphone jack. The headphone jack was removed in the 2018 Apple iPad Pros.
• Stereo speakers. This Apple iPad Air 3 has great speakers and can get loud. Be mindful they aren’t as good as those on the 2018 Apple iPad Pros (the new Apple iPad Pros have four speakers as opposed to two in this case), but they are good for this model.
• Smart connector. This port makes it easy to use the Smart keyboard, which right now, is pretty much the only iPad accessory available. Apple was hoping other companies would jump on board and design some new accessories, but none have really done so.
