Apple’s Back to School discounts are here! In preparation for the new school year, Apple is offering discounts on select products until September 27, 2021. This promotion, which runs yearly, is just one example of Apple Inc’s long history of dedication to education.
We’ll detail exactly who can benefit from these discounts and which products you can expect to see at a lower price. We’ll also recommend our favorite iPad Pro case for long-lasting, reliable protection.
You may be surprised to learn that not only students are eligible for Apple’s education discount. Parents and educators can also make use of this discount, with a few rules attached.
If you are a student, you must be 16 and older and be enrolled in a higher or further education institution. This may be a university, a college, or a trade school - these options are all acceptable with proof of enrolment. If you have been issued a student ID or acceptance letter, you can present these during your purchase to claim your discount. Students in the United Kingdom, once they are in sixth-form, are also eligible. The good news? Even if you have not started your course, your eligibility won’t be affected.
Parents of students enrolled in higher education can also claim a discount, but only on behalf of their child. This is great for parents who may want to upgrade their child’s school supplies on their own or purchase a new device as a gift of some kind. However, parents that serve as executives on any type of parent-teacher organization at an eligible institution do automatically become eligible.
Staff members at K-12 and further and higher education institutions are also eligible for these discounts. In fact, these discounts are available to any staff members, including those non-teaching roles. Apple has also made eligible members of school boards and homeschool teachers. Just like students and parents, proof of employment will need to be shown before the discount can be applied. This can be a job letter, staff ID, or payslip, as long as it contains the logo and/or header of the institution of employment. Members of the PTA/PTO or the school board can provide a letter of invitation or another form of proof of their position or involvement.
Now that you’ve verified your eligibility, the next step is to choose the products that you’re interested in. Although we’d all love for these discounts to be applicable to all Apple products, that isn’t currently the case. Currently, these discounts apply only to Mac and iPad products. The discounted Mac products are the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro, and Mac mini. If you’re looking for an iPad, you’ll be able to find reduced prices on both the iPad Air and the iPad Pro 12.9 Case. Keep reading to the end of the article for our recommendation on the best iPad Pro case for your or your child’s new device.
Since these discounts are targeted for educational purposes, you won’t be able to find
If your product of choice is a Mac, you can save up to $200, depending on the model. Discounts for the iPad range up to $100. Plus, some purchases come with free AirPods, which are usually over $150 per pair. You can even upgrade your normal AirPods to those with wireless charging by just paying the difference in price between the non-wireless and wireless models. You’ll save up to $90 if you take advantage of this offer.
This discount also applies to Apple Music. If you’re a music lover, you can subscribe to this feature for a whopping 50% discount. Even better? You can keep this discount for up to 48 months (that’s two years!) after you’ve claimed it. Since Apple wants to help you keep your device safe, you’ll also get a 20% discount on AppleCare+.
In addition to these yearly back to school deals, Apple also has continuous education discounts that eligible persons can take advantage of. Although the discounts are less significant, they are still useful to those who need a new device but don’t want to pay full price. After September 27th, the discounts will return to up to $100 for Mac products and up to $50 on iPads.
Getting your discount is easy and straightforward. For anyone in the United States, all you need to do is present at a physical Apple store with your articles of proof, and you’ll be able to access your desired discount. Those in the UK can register with Apple’s official store for education and enter their eligibility details online.
Although these deals will be running until the end of September, you should take advantage of these discounts as soon as possible. This is especially true if you’d like to increase your chances of getting a free pair of AirPods with your purchase, as these will likely not be available the entirety of the deal.
