    I was buying this case for an iPad used on my piano's music stand. I wanted it to lean securely on the stand or, if the stand is sitting horizontally, the case itself could prop up the iPad in a sturdy fashion. I also wanted to be sure the case wouldn't scratch the piano's wood surface.

    I did a lot of research and narrowed it down to the ZUGU and ESR Shift. The Shift has a detachable stand which provides nice functionality but at the same time is also a bit of a nuisance given the separate parts. I just wanted to keep it simple with a one-piece. Reviews suggested the ZUGU was sturdier too. When using the case's built in stand, which has eight angle settings with notches AND magnets, the thing is rock solid.

    The ZUGU is a top-quality case. It clearly uses premium materials, has a beautiful design, and is constructed extremely well. When lying against the music stand with the iPad's power and volume buttons being pressed, the case does not move. No sliding left or right. No vertical flexing. It sits soft but securely on the on the wood surface.

    I would definitely recommend this case.

    That said, nothing is perfect. The right side of the case where the volume buttons are is a bit more flexible than I'd like. It doesn't hinder the performance in any way. It's just that when I grip that side, the material flexes a bit. It would just FEEL nicer, at least I think, if it were a bit stiffer. Also, there is only one "lip" that allows one to easily open the case. …

    Great case!!

    This is a great case! The magnets hold it very well and I have attached it to my fridge and my microwave and it holds great! I liked it so much that I got one for my new mini iPad!

    I pad case

    I really like the case it’s sturdy and it stands up well

    the only thing I don’t like is the cover when it is in the stand-up position it goes further than necessary and I’m unable to put it on my nightstand/table in front of things. I think they need to make it possible to fold up to shorten it. I hope I’m explaining it correctly.
